Have you ever wanted to connect with your guides and ask for divine guidance (God give me a sign!) and gotten nothing? Or when you do receive a message or a sign, you immediately question it? “Is this for real? Am I making this up?”
If you are like how I was years ago, I would’ve needed scientific proof. And if there was none, then I wouldn’t believe it. We’ve been raised in a society that treats scientific proof as the gold standard, and intuition sometimes gets labeled as woo-woo and is discredited because it can’t be proven. I was definitely in the “Give me the scientific evidence!” camp.
I believe that both science and spirituality can coexist and I walk happily between both this Earthly world and the Spirit world. So what does it matter that the message you received can’t be “proven”? What really matters is – Was the message helpful to you?
For some, it’s not a matter of believing, it’s more of “I try to sit quietly and meditate to receive something, but all I get are running thoughts and frustration.”
Well, herein lies the beauty of shamanic journeying. The steady drumbeat helps quiet the dominance of an active thinking mind and the brain begins to synchronize with the rhythm of the drum. As this happens, slower theta brain waves can support a more receptive, inward state. And that’s when the magic happens.
In a shamanic journey, insight comes through in different ways for people. Some see, hear, feel, or just have a knowing. You may meet guides in different forms (animals, ancestors, ascended masters, nature elements). Anything is possible because the spirit realm is limitless. This is why you start a journey with a question or intention.
One repeating piece of advice that I received from shamanic journeying was to start a Women’s Circle at my place. I had felt this loneliness and disconnection before, of not being fully understood by people I was trying to connect with. All I wanted was to be truly seen, and so do many others. So my guides told me to start a Women’s Circle — a space for women to connect on a deeper level. I launched it last October.
This is the guidance that can come through on journeys. It can help bring more clarity into your life when you’re searching for answers. You may not need to rack your brain over unknowns or write a pros/cons list to get clarity. And like anything intuitive, the more you practice, the more familiar it becomes—and the easier it can be to trust what you receive.
